ICELIS Global’s Founder and CEO, Elena Athwal, participated in the “Energy Legal Lab – GCC Lawyers in the Age of Transition” workshop organized by UNESCO Chair on Environmental Law and Sustainable Development at HBKU, in partnership with the Oil and Gas Law Committee of the IBA, Academic Advisory Group, SEERIL, International Bar Association, Tulane Energy Law & Policy Center, The World Bank Group’s ESMAP – Energy Sector Management Assistance Program Green Hydrogen Program, Global Carbon Council (GCC) & the OPEC Legal Office.
The Lab convened in-house lawyers, academics, policymakers, and industry experts for forward-looking dialogue on how Legal Frameworks must evolve alongside climate commitments digitalization & new energy business models.

Participating in the session, Energy Transition in the GCC: Evolving Practices and Strategic Imperatives, presented by Professor Damilola S. Olawuyi, SAN, Professor and UNESCO Chair on Environmental Law and Sustainable Development at the HBKU College of Law, Chair, Academic Advisory Group, IBA-SEERIL, Elena Athwal contributed towards dialogue on the guiding principles of #natural #resources law and policy in the context of the global #energy transition and the implications for the GCC.
