About Pedro Guzman

Pedro Xavier Guzman is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Pedro has developed research and problem-solving skills while working as a research assistant in a Geotechnical Research Lab, where he conducted experiments to enhance the accuracy of measurements on hydraulic properties of geotextiles, earning him the Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Geotechnical Engineering. He also gained experience in project management and design skills as the President and founder of an organization that designs and oversees the construction of its projects. He leads a team of 29 interdisciplinary members, who, from conception to completion, ensure that it meets all client specifications and deadlines, achieving a total project value of $1.5 million since the team’s founding.

Pedro is also an officer in the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE), previously serving as the Freshman Representative and currently the organization’s Social Chair, participating in legislative advocacy efforts, including meeting with state senators to discuss infrastructure policy.
