The Gulf Diwan Hosts Landmark Gathering in Kuwait 

Kuwait – The Gulf Diwan convened a significant gathering in Kuwait, marking a milestone in regional collaborationacross the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Held under the patronage of HE Abdulrahman Baddah Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, the forum served as a platform for dialogue and cultural exchange. 

Organized jointly by YPA Kuwait and The Diwan, the event was led by Diwan President Saad Al-Tami and Diwan Vice President Elena Athwal. Over four days, the forum engaged distinguished figures from academia, business, and sports, fostering meaningful discussions on cultural ties, social initiatives, and sustainability efforts. 

The gathering highlighted the importance of regional unity, emphasizing collaboration as a key driver of long-term progress in the Gulf. The participation of dignitaries, industry leaders, and ambitious youth reinforced the forum’s commitment to shaping a more interconnected and resilient future for the region. 

The Gulf Diwan Explores Sustainability Through Leadership and Innovation

As part of The Gulf Diwan Forum, a distinguished panel discussion on ’Driving Sustainability Through Leadership, Innovation, and Strategic Transformation’ brought together experts to examine the evolving role of leadership and innovation in advancing sustainability across industries. 

The discussion featured: 

  • Abdulmajeed Al Balushi (Oman) – Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Paradigms Consulting, Executive Board Member of Shaffra, and Vice Chairman of Ansdam
  • Dr. Gasem Fallatah (Saudi Arabia) – Deputy Director of the Oil Sustainability Program (OSP) and Global Operations Senior Manager at AMPP
  • Susan Karamanian (Qatar/USA) – Dean of the College of Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and Executive Council Member of the American Society of International Law, who served as moderator. 

Speakers examined strategies for integrating sustainability into core business operations, fostering economic growth, and enhancing cross-sector collaboration to create long-term impact. 

The panel also welcomed distinguished guests, including Ali Ahmed Albarwani (Oman LNG L.L.C.) and Saif Al-Minji (OQ8), alongside key members of The Diwan

The Gulf Diwan welcomed distinguished speakers for a high-level discussion on ‘Building Financial Systems and Institutional Strategies for Growth.’ The session explored the role of financial frameworks and strategic planning in driving sustainable economic growth across the Gulf region. 

The event brought together esteemed GCCatHarvard alumni and thought leaders, including: 

  • Talal Alajmi – Founder and CEO of VI Markets. 
  • Ali Ahmed Albarwani – General Manager of Strategic Planning and Management Framework, Oman LNG L.L.C., and Harvard Business School alumnus. 

The discussion was expertly moderated by Aziz Almutawa, Regional Manager at Sakkan Platform, whose engaging approach enriched the dialogue. 

This session underscored the importance of institutional resilience, strategic financial planning, and cross-border collaboration in ensuring economic stability and long-term growth.

The Gulf Diwan convened a high-level panel discussion on ’Advancing Technology & Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future.’ The event brought together leading experts from the Gulf region to examine the role of emerging technologies and renewable energy in fostering long-term economic and environmental sustainability. 

The panel featured: 

  • Abdullah Marri (Saudi Arabia) – Clean Energy Project Lead at Aramco and a World Economic Forum Young Global Shaper, who discussed energy efficiency and youth empowerment. 
  • Dr. Ammar Hamadien, LLM, MBA (Kuwait) – Telecommunications Specialist at the UNDP and Senior Advisor to the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), emphasizing the role of connectivity and innovation in sustainable development. 
  • Mohammed Sh. Al-Rashidi (Kuwait) – Founder of One Global Holding, focusing on the integration of deep-tech startups to drive societal progress. 
  • Noura Al Harasi (UAE) – Senior Manufacturing Engineer at STRATA Manufacturing PJSC, who highlighted advancements in IoT, artificial intelligence, and youth engagement in STEM fields. 

The discussion was moderated by Elena Athwal, who guided the conversation on ESG principles, digital transformation, and the crucial role of youth in shaping the sustainability agenda. 

Speakers underscored the importance of technological innovation and renewable energy as catalysts for economic transformation and environmental stewardship.
